Two new investors of Anaklia Port to be announced today

The two biggest investors whom the Anaklia Development Consortium has successfully negotiated with are expected to be officially named later today. Kazakh and Dutch companies have made a bid to replace American Conti Group in the project.

Meridian based in Hong Kong, has been operating in the investment market since 2002 and has been implementing major projects in Russia, the Asia-Pacific region and Eastern Europe.
The Dutch company Van Ord owns the ship Athena and it is considered to be one of the world"s leading shipbuilding manufactures. Within the next two weeks the bidding investors will be waiting for the government’s support in Georgia’s one of the most controversial projects of Anaklia Port.
The director general the Anaklia Consortium states their position will be announced only after assessments are made by the Georgian authorities.
"We have 2 investors and they want to join the project. We have to wait for the authorities, another ball is on their side. We are waiting for the reaction of the authorities and only afterwards we will voice our decisions", - said Levan Akhvlediani.
