The government delegation of Uzbekistan visited the port of Anaklia today together with representatives of local authorities and the Anaklia Development Consortium.
According to the Uzbekistan"s Deputy Minister of Transport Dovran Dekkanov, the Anaklia port is a grand project, which is of great importance both for Georgia and the region.
"We were in Anaklia, where the port is being built. This is a grand facility that is of great importance both for Georgia and the whole region. We will study the issue of participation in these projects.
There is talk of the Silk Road right now, and it"s impossible to discuss it without the Black Sea ports because they are part of the Silk Road. I think there are too many transcontinental routes, but all of these roads have prospects. It is very important for us to have a transport corridor, to study them and to find out which one is the safest corridor for our cargo. We will discuss all the roads, including the ports of Georgia", - said the representative of Uzbekistan.
