"The use of weapons must stop now to give space to dialogue. We are all called upon to do everything possible to rekindle talks. There cannot be enough of that". Such a statement European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made after Iran launched ballistic missiles against U.S. military and coalition forces in Iraq.
The EU’s coordinator for the deal, Josep Borrell also commented on the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. He said the situation is “extremely worrying.”
“The current situation puts at risk the efforts of the past years and also has implications for the important work of the anti-Daesh coalition”, - concluded Josep Borrell.
