Today is Good Friday

Orthodox Christians in Georgia are today commemorating one of the most significant days in the religious calendar – Good Friday – which marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. On this day believers dye eggs red, symbolizing the blood of Christ, rebirth and new life. A traditional sweet Easter bread, Paska, is also traditionally baked today.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia will arrive to the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

The clergy say all necessary recommendations in the churches are being implemented to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
