The Georgian Patriarchate issued a statement regarding yesterday’s decision of the Government. According to them, the ban was not agreed with the Georgian Patriarchate.
“On the evening of April 16, the government administration announced a nationwide ban on cars and other private vehicles starting from today, 12 am, until April 21.
This decision caused a great dissatisfaction among the population and, of course, among the clergy and believers. The ban was not agreed with the Georgian Patriarchate.
As it was made clear during a phone conversation later, clergymen, choir members and altar servers will be able to drive for participating both in today"s and Easter services”, - reads the statement.
