Georgia celebrates Saint George’s day. Saint George has always been especially honored and respected as a patron saint of Georgia and there are hundreds of churches dedicated to him. Georgian Orthodox Christians celebrate Saint George’s Day, Giorgoba, twice a year; on May 6 and on 23 November.
Despite the epidemiological situation in the country, church services will be held in all functioning churches.
According to the clergy, the social distance in the temples will be protected and everyone will follow the recommendation.
The Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II will arrive to the Holy Trinity Cathedral and conduct festive liturgy.
