Farmers in Georgia will receive GEL 200 per hectare of land. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of the country.
Giorgi Gakharia talked about this issue during the presentation of the agricultural development plan.
“Each farmer with registered land will receive a subsidy from the State - GEL 200 per hectare. This means that medium and large farms, which own, for example, 10 hectares, will get an assistance - GEL 2 000. This, of course, will be distributed proportionally to those farmers who have relatively smaller plots of land.
Besides, each farmer will receive 150 liters of diesel fuel per hectare, which will cost GEL 1 cheaper compared to the market price. The fuel price is significant for agricultural activities.
Farmers can apply to the relevant subdivisions of the Ministry of Agriculture from May 20. The assistance will cover about 200 000 farmers and the total budget of the assistance will be GEL 300 million”, - concluded the Head of the Government.
