The officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department, as a result of search and investigative activities held on the basis of operative information, detained I.Z. (DoB 1978) Usakhelo village, Tchiatura municipality, for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition. Committed crime envisages from 3 to 6 years of imprisonment.

During the search activities held in detainee’s property, las enforcers seized AKM and AKC automatic weapons, 6 hand grenades, 8 cartridges and 900 magazines as well as three pistols, Geko shotgun, “Tula” rifle and 30 meters of fire-resistant ribbon as evidence.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition, article 236, III part, sub-paragraph III of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
