According to the family members of the detainee accused of extortion in Zugdidi, the suspect was beaten

In Zugdidi police detained A.Ts. (DoB 1991) and R.P. (DoB 1976) for extortion. Committed crime envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that detainees extorted cash from the certain citizen on the regular basis. Police seized 3500 USD as evidence from the vehicle operated by one of the detainees. Law enforcers also seized ammunition and firearm supposedly from another detainee’s house.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of extortion in large amounts, article 181, II part, sub-paragraph “C” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

According to the family members of the detainee accused of extortion in Zugdidi, the suspect was beaten.
