The Prosecutor’s Office detained a policeman in connection with an accident near the village of Aragvispiri, which resulted in the death of a minor.

“The investigation established that on July 26, 2020, the inspector-investigator of the Dusheti District Division of the Mtskheta - Mtianeti Police Department of the MIA, V.P., was driving in the direction of Stepantsminda. He was drunk, ran over a pedestrian, minor L.Z., near the village of Aragvispiri. The child died while being taken to the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 276, part 7, of the Criminal Code of Georgia. All necessary investigative and procedural activities are being carried out”, - reads the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office.
