Giorgi Sharvashidze elected as the Rector of Tbilisi State University

An acting Rector of Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University Giorgi Sharvashidze, has been re-elected as Rector in the elections.

The 37 members of Academic Council participated in the balloting. Sharvashidze received majority of votes – 32. His rival candidates Giorgi Baramidze and Tsira Baramidze received one vote each.

Giorgi Sharvashidze will hold the rector position for 4 years.
