The President of Georgia met with the Public Defender. Salome Zourabichvili and Nino Lomjaria talked about child protection, domestic violence and violence against women.

The President welcomed both the new Child Code and the initiative, which, along with a restraining order, imposes an electronic surveillance on the abusers.

“State mechanisms are being refined and tightened to eliminate a phenomenon that is completely unacceptable to our culture - violence, but let us not forget that the non-acceptance of violence and timely response are the responsibility of society and each of us too”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
