New equipment was handed over to the Emergency Management Service

The U.S. Embassy works to ensure Georgia is capable of rapidly responding to any threat. Today, Georgia’s Emergency Management Services received a donation of equipment valued at approximately USD 226,000 from the Embassy Tbilisi’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency.


Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Catherine Schweitzer and Defense Attaché COL Stephanie Bagley joined Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ioseb Chelidze to witness the equipment transfer and to review a simulation of the training and response capability of the EMS CBRN (Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense) Response unit.
