Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 11 drug dealers

The officers of Main Division for the Fight against Illegal Circulation of Drugs under the central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with employees of the General Prosecutor’s Office, as a result of jointly held operative-search and investigative activities detained 11 drug dealers in Ponitchala.


On the basis of the relevant Court decision, the following persons have been detained: N.A. (DoB 1986), I.A. (DoB 1973), K.A. (DoB 1987), A.G. (DoB 1996), D.P. (DoB 1967), S.G. (DoB 1976), V.M. (DoB 1999), V.A. (DoB 1979). P.A. (DoB 1971), R.N. (DoB 1985) and E.G. (DoB 1999).


Detainees are accused of illegal purchase, keeping and selling of drugs.


Committed crime envisages from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
Investigation established that detainees sold drugs on the regular basis.


Based on the court decision, law enforcers, being undercover, purchased “Heroin” drug from the mentioned persons and videotaped the process.


As a result of personal search of the detainees and search activities held in their places of residence, “Heroin” drug, cash and mobile phones were seized as evidence.


Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase- keeping and selling drugs in especially large quantities committed by the group with a previous consent, crime envisaged under the article 260, III part, sub-paragraphs “A” and “B”, part IV, part V, sub-paragraph “A” and “B”, part VI, sub-paragraph “A” envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
