Orthodox Christians in Georgia are celebrating Mtskhetoba-Svetitskhovloba, a celebration of Georgia’s ancient capital city and its legendary cathedral today.
His Holiness and Beatitude, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II will hold the festive liturgy at 10:00 a.m.
According to the Patriarchate of Georgia, the coronavirus regulations will be strictly observed at the liturgy.
Svetitskhovloba is an annual festival held on October 14 in the town of Mtskheta. The festival pays homage to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and is also a celebration of Mtskheta itself.
