The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities, detained two persons in Tbilisi: L.B. (DoB 1992) for illegal production of the new psychoactive substances and M.G. (born in 1999, convicted for similar crime in past and currently on probation) for the attempted selling of the new psychoactive substances.

Investigation established that on October 11, 2020, L.B. manufactured and prepared new psychoactive substance, the so called “Bio” for sale in his apartment. With the purpose of further realization, he placed drugs at specially selected cache. In the course of the mentioned process, he was taken under arrest by Vake-Saburtalo police main division officers at the place of crime. During the search activities held in his place of temporary residence, law enforcers seized new psychoactive substances in large quantities as evidence which was ready for realization. Investigation against L.B. is in progress on the fact of illegal production of new psychoactive substances, article 260, II part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Second detainee- M.G. arrived at the site by means of the special app and with a previous consent. He started to look for the drug, earlier placed in special cache by L.B. During the process of search M.G. was stopped and taken to the police station by the law enforcers. Policemen seized 7 packages of the drug substance “Bio” from various locations, earlier placed by M.G. for further realization. M.G. is accused under the article 19-260, part V, sub-paragraph “D” and “E” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, implying the repeated illegal attempt of selling new psychoactive substances, from the side of an individual, who has already been charged for similar crime.

The committed crime envisages from 7 to 14 years of imprisonment.
