Iveri Melashvili and Natalia Ilichova remain in custody

Iveri Melashvili and Natalia Ilichova, arrested on charges of committing acts against the territories of Georgia, have been remanded in custody by a court.

The court rejected the defense’s motion.

The Prosecutor’s Office detained Iveli Melashvili, the head of the Border Relations Service of Department of Neighboring Countries and Natalia Ilichova, the Chief Inspector of the Land Border Defence Department of the MIA of Georgia on October 7 as part of the ongoing investigation into the case of Davit Gareji. The detainees pleaded not guilty.
