According to Giorgi Gakharia, the candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia, the country will have a vaccine, but the expectations should not be exceeded, that this will solve the problem in a month or two.

As the Head of the Government noted, Georgia is a member of the COVAX platform, which allows us to import vaccine.

“Georgia is already a member of the COVAX platform, which allows us to import these vaccines to Georgia. We have some financial resources to pay for this in advance. Georgia will be one of the first countries in the region to receive the vaccine and will start, first of all, the process of vaccination of our citizens at risk.

There will be a vaccine but we should not have excessive expectations that the problem will be solved in a month or two. The vaccine is an opportunity to reduce the risks”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
