537 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council.
“Within the scope of intensive testing 5 265 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 1 945 were antigen-based express test method and 3 320 PCR.
537 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 236 028 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.
494 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 224 189.
Unfortunately, 34 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak, the total death toll has reached 2 728.
Out of 537 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 290 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 47 - in Adjara, 44 - in Imereti, 15 - in Kvemo Kartli, 46 - in Shida Kartli, 6 - in Guria, 31 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 35 - in Kakheti, 15 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 8 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 0 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
