The cause of any of the inmates’ death in No.17 or other penitentiary establishments has not been the novel virus. Such a statement released the Special Penitentiary Service.

“The Special Penitentiary Service is responding to information by different media outlets claiming that a patient has died of coronavirus in Penitentiary Facility No.17.

Neither of the patients has died of COVID-19 in either prison facilities, including Penitentiary Facility No.17”, - reads the statement.
