Two employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint. Giorgi Bichelashvili and Dimitri Devdariani, accused of humiliating and inhuman treatment of soldiers.

The decision was made by the judge of Tbilisi City Court Roman Khorava.

The Investigation Department of the State Inspector’s Office detained 2 employees of the Department of Protection of Objects of the MIA on charges of abuse of office against soldiers on compulsory military service.

According to the investigation, the shift heads of the Combat Training and Retraining Division of the Department of Defense of the MIA abused their official authority - in the presence of other soldiers, used methods of punishment prohibited by law against conscripts, violated their personal dignity and human rights, inflicted moral and physical pain and damaged the legitimate interests of the state.
