Armenian parliament does not support Pashinyan’s candidacy

The Armenian parliament did not support Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for the post of Prime Minister at a special sitting.

Only one MP supported Pashinyan’s candidacy, three were against, and 75 abstained from participating in the voting process.

Thus, the procedure for calling early parliamentary elections began. If the legislature does not elect the head of government within a week, parliament will be dissolved, and early elections will be formally set.
