The Prime Minister of Georgia was invited to the US with the reservation that before the visit, the Parliament had to suspend the consideration of the draft law on transparency of foreign influence, which does not correspond to the spirit of partnership. Such a statement was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The US Ambassador’s today’s statement said that the high-ranking officials of the Georgian Government were invited to the US, which the Georgian side refused.
In this regard, we would like to clarify that the Prime Minister was invited to the US with the reservation that before the visit to Georgia had to suspend the consideration of the draft law on transparency of foreign influence. The implementation of the visit with reservations does not correspond to the spirit of partnership, which should be based on mutual respect and mutual trust, with regard to which a detailed explanation was presented to the US Ambassador”, - reads the statement.
