I categorically condemn any attempt to insult the worthy work of police officers, your profession, so any such action will be punished. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia at the ceremony dedicated to the Police Day.
“We, the citizens of this country, are proud of the Georgian police. We hope for every person employed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thanks again for the service! I am very happy that we were able to transform the police.
Georgian police is no longer politicized, they equally protect every citizen of our country. Undeserved, insulting expressions towards the police are absolutely unacceptable, which, unfortunately, are often repeated by the opponents.
Of course, this should not be tolerated and we should not make any compromises. None of these facts should be left unresponded.
Police officers must be untouchable. Of course, I am not talking about individual violations to which the Ministry responds accordingly, but it is unacceptable and I categorically condemn any attempt to insult your worthy work, your profession, so each such action will be punished and we will not allow any compromise”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
