Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chair, was elected as the Chair of the Democracy and Human Rights Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe [OSCE].

By being elected to the position, Samkharadze also became a member of the Bureau of the Assembly, which serves as its main decision-making body.

The election was part of the Assembly’s annual session in Birmingham.
