When the resolution says that [Nika] Gvaramia and [Mikheil] Saakashvili should be released and [Bidzina] Ivanishvili should be punished, this document loses any value. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Georgian Dream, responding to the letter sent by Prime Minister to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“This is a very important letter. You have seen that both the resolution of the European Parliament and the entry that was included in the evaluation of the European Parliament regarding de-oligarchization are used for speculations.
Specific political forces and their lobbyists are trying to link this record to Bidzina Ivanishvili. In this regard, it is important for the European Commission to provide clarity. It is important that this position be stated publicly so that there is no room for speculation and that the entry is not used for further polarization. Everything must be clarified. Of course, the Prime Minister’s letter is important, and Ursula von der Leyen’s answer will also be important.
The resolution is worthless for one simple reason - this resolution is unfair. When the resolution says that Gvaramia and Saakashvili should be released and Ivanishvili should be punished, this document loses any value.
Bidzina Ivanishvili does not need anyone"s protection, he can protect himself. We need to protect the prestige of the state governance system. When they talk about informal governance, oligarchic governance, they harm the governance system of Georgia. It is a matter of our honor not to allow anyone to inflict such a blow on the governance system”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
