Distancing Georgia from its natural allies only serves narrow interests and not the Georgian people. Such a statement US Ambassador to Georgia made in the interview to the Voice of America.

As Kelly Degnan said, it is not clear why some politicians are trying to create a divide between America and Georgia.

According to her, Georgia has no greater friend than the United States and the Georgian people want closer ties with the USA.

The Ambassador told Voice of America that the US is looking forward to continuing bilateral cooperation with Georgia.

“The United States of America has provided more than USD 6 billion in aid to Georgia, including implementing 21 projects worth USD 2,000,000 for the protection of cultural heritage”, - added Kelly Degnan.
