The United National Movement [UNM] releases a statement on the issue related to the former chairman of the party Nika Melia.

“The UNM is preparing for victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections, crucial for the country.

Under the initiative and authorship of Mikheil Saakashvili, party published the UNM unity manifesto, which defines the main principles of the party’s functioning.

Despite our months-long efforts to have the former chairman return to the party, Nika Melia does not share the principles set forth in the manifesto, continues the campaign to damage the party and publicly declares that he is “not in the UNM”. It is a fact -he does not represent the UNM.

The UNM is entering the decisive pre-election mode. Nika Melia doesn’t represent the UNM, this issue is closed and the party does not intend to make additional comments on this issue.

The UNM, including at the level of the political council, is absolutely open to all those people whose goal is to contribute to the 2024 parliamentary elections and the victory of the country”, - reads the statement of the party.
