Paralympic medal winners, coaches to be nominated for state awards - Prime Minister

All winners of medals at the Paris Paralympic Games from Georgia and their coaches would be nominated for highest state awards. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the Government will hand out prize money for medals won by the competitors, similarly to the Olympic team that earned results at the Summer Games earlier.

“The Government’s approach towards Paralympic athletes, who claimed 9 medals at the Games, is exactly the same as Olympic medal-winners”, - added the Head of the Government.

Those gold medal winners will be awarded GEL 1 million, silver medal winners will receive GEL 500,000 and bronze medallists will be granted GEL 250,000.
