The Mayor of Tbilisi said many people gathered at a final campaign meeting in Tbilisi to show the whole world that Georgian people would never give up their homeland, faith and freedom.

In his speech at a final campaign meeting, Kakha Kaladze recalled the pre-election environment of 2012 parliamentary elections and expressed hope Georgia would successfully overcome all challenges in October 26 as well.

“Friends, this city has never wavered its loyalty to the homeland, it always stood where the fate of the country and the mother church was decided. Homeland and faith are inseparable for a Georgian.

You are Georgia and you are the people who, in this difficult time, must once again lead the homeland to peace.

I look at you and I remember the time when, 12 years ago, we gathered in this place with full of hope and told each other that we would definitely put an end to the bloody regime, injustice and evil that was in our country at that time. Under the leadership of Bidzina Ivanishvili we managed to do this, and most importantly, we managed to do it bloodlessly and peacefully.

Georgia wants Europe and European future but not in the way the country is told from outside.

We will not be someone’s vassal, we will not give up the interests of Georgia, we will not give up the sovereignty of the country, we will not give up the independence and freedom of the country, which we won with blood, which was won by my, your, our ancestors, although we are ready to be dignified partners and friends”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
