Georgians shouldn’t take seriously the debates in EU on October 26 elections – Vikton Orbán

The Prime Minister of Hungary, who is on an official visit to Georgia, said at a joint press briefing with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze that the election outcome in the country was “undeniable”, and “free and democratic” elections had been held.

“As the Prime Minister of Hungary, who has faced many controversies, I can tell you there will be debates in the coming days. The election outcome is clear. Free and democratic elections were held, but there will still be discussions in Europe, and you shouldn’t take this too seriously. This is a common occurrence, debates are typical in Brussels.

Whenever conservative parties win, we always see this kind of debate because European politics is guided by narratives. If liberals win, then it’s democracy, if conservatives win, then it wasn’t democracy. This debate always occurs in Brussels”, - said Viktor Orbán.
