The planned reorganization at Tbilisi City Hall is not related to political processes, as it was announced earlier - Kakha Kaladze

The planned reorganization at Tbilisi City Hall is not related to political processes, as it was announced earlier. Such a statement made today the Mayor of the capital.

“I would like to touch upon the issue of the reorganization announced at the Tbilisi City Hall. We have heard many incorrect assessments from a political perspective. If a person takes a look at the date when the reorganization was announced, he/she will clearly see that it has nothing to do with the processes that have been taking place in recent days. The reorganization was announced much earlier.

The last time the reorganization was implemented in 2017. I think it is important to further improve the situation, strengthen and simplify the work of services, which should be reflected on the capital and the people living here. We have heard many assessments that are not true. The reorganization is not related to the aforementioned political processes, we had announced it before, and there will be a lot of changes in the City Hall”, - said Kakha Kaladze.

He also said that incorrect information was spread regarding the issue of bonuses for agency employees.

“Yesterday we heard assessments regarding bonuses, that we allegedly use the issue of giving or not giving bonuses to blackmail employees, which is a lie. I have been the mayor of Tbilisi since 2017. We cannot cite a single case where we punished someone for their political views or had an unfair attitude towards someone because of their views on various issues.

There is no example in nature that we divided people on political grounds. As for bonuses, they are determined by legislation. A specific employee is assessed in relation to his/her performance, how he/she works. Then the head of his/her department makes a decision and does what is provided for by law. There has not been a single case where we oppressed someone, or had an unfair attitude towards someone, however, I would also like to emphasize one thing - you know, a petition has been circulated, which is signed by more than 200 of our employee. We have a lot of evidence of how employees were blackmailed and bullied, which is categorically unacceptable. We will not allow people to be bullied. This creates a very unhealthy situation in the workplace. Accordingly, regarding bonuses, we will act as the law tells us and in no case will we punish anyone for certain views”, - added the Mayor.
