President of Georgia was briefed on the measures taken to address the problems caused by heavy snowfall in Adjara and the current situation.

Mikheil Kavelashvili, together with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze and members of the Cabinet of Ministers, visited the headquarters established in Kobuleti to address the problems caused by heavy snowfall, where he received information about the current situation and the measures that the government of the autonomous republic is implementing in coordination with the central government.

As the Chairman of Adjara Government, Tornike Rizhvadze noted, disaster relief measures are actively underway and the situation in the region is under full control, the access roads to all administrative units have already been cleared, public transport and the provision of utility services have been restored.

It was noted that certain challenges still remain in the mountainous Adjara, however, the clearing of access roads to administrative units is actively continuing and maximum efforts will be made to meet the needs of the population in the shortest possible time.

Mikheil Kavelashvili also visited the mountainous villages of Zeniti and Sakhalvasho and got acquainted with the situation there on the spot. He thanked the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and all services that responded promptly and promptly to the problems caused by heavy snowfall.
