The Public Relations Department of the Georgian Patriarchate is issuing a statement regarding May 17, Family Purity Day.

"As it known, Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, declared May 17 as Family Purity Day in 2014.

A church service will be conducted at the Kashueti Church at 14:00, followed by a solemn procession towards the Sameba [Holy Trinity] Cathedral.

Leaders of churches were given the blessing of the Patriarchal locum tenens Shio Mujiri of the Georgian Orthodox Church, to join the procession of prayer together with their parishioners", - reads the statement.
