
Rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service have recovered the bodies of 2 passengers from a vehicle that plunged into the Mtkvari River during a traffic accident in Tbilisi yesterday, May 14.
The bodies have been retrieved from the water, all necessary legal procedures are now underway.
The vehicle itself has also been lifted from the riverbed.
Search efforts for the missing person continue 24/7. Divers, watercraft, and specialised units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs are actively assisting rescuers in the ongoing operation.
Following the emergency call, firefighters launched a rescue operation, successfully saving 1 person from the water. During the search, the bodies of a man and a woman were also discovered and have been sent for examination.
