Tbilisi City Court sentences Gvaramia to 8 months in prison

The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Ahali Party, to 8 months in prison for failing to comply with a request from the parliamentary temporary investigative commission.

Besides, he has been barred from holding public office for 2 years.

Nika Gvaramia didn’t attend the final hearing.

Police detained him on June 13, after the court replaced his bail with imprisonment due to his refusal to pay the GEL 30,000 bail imposed for failing to appear before the commission.
