In connection with the case of Tornike Rizhvadze, Head of the Maritime Transport Agency, Aleksi Akhvlediani, has been detained as a suspect under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Georgia for the negligent storage of a firearm.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, former Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic, Tornike Rizhvadze, was admitted to Sagarejo GeoHospitals with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He received emergency medical assistance. According to doctors, he has sustained lung damage and his condition remains critically stable.
