We are planning a large-scale restoration of Dadiani Palace, this will cover both the façade and the interior spaces - Kobakhidze

The rehabilitation of the Royal Residence of the Dadiani Palace in Zugdidi is set to begin, announced the Prime Minister of Georgia in Zugdidi.

Together with Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze, members of the Government, Parliament and local authorities, Irakli Kobakhidze visited the Dadiani Palace Historical-Architectural Museum and reviewed the details of the rehabilitation project of the Queen`s Residence.

As a result of the rehabilitation, the structure and foundation of the palace will be fully reinforced, while the exhibition halls of the residence will undergo restoration and regain their authentic historic appearance. During the process, a special drainage system will also be installed for the Prince`s Palace to protect its foundation from excess precipitation.

"We are planning a large-scale restoration. This will cover both the façade and the interior spaces. The Dadiani Palace will be thoroughly restored from beginning to end. This palace is our pride and taking care of it is our special responsibility. I would like to thank the Minister of Culture, who initiated this project and we fully supported it", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The project, prepared with the involvement of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia`s architect-restorers, art theoreticians and historians, is scheduled for completion in 2028.
