Police have detained 20 people under the Code of Administrative Offenses during the ongoing protest on Rustaveli Avenue. Such a statement was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs [MIA].
"Representatives of the MIA are mobilized to maintain public order in connection with the ongoing protest on Rustaveli Avenue.
Despite repeated calls by employees of the MIA to the participants of the protest not to obstruct traffic, they did not obey the lawful request of the police. Based on the above, the police have detained 20 people under the Code of Administrative Offenses.
We call on the participants of the protest to stop attempting to gather on the roadway and to express their protest within the limits established by law. The police will respond to each violation in accordance with the law", - reads the statement.
