Employees of Gurjaani Police Division of Kakheti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 1 person on charges of illegally planting, growing and cultivating a plant containing a particularly large amount of narcotics.

Law enforcement officers seized up to 50 kilograms of the drug plant "cannabis" as evidence from the yard of the detainee's house in Gurjaani Municipality. The police also seized materials necessary for the production of narcotics.

The investigation is underway under Article 265 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years.
