Officers of Isani-Samgori Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, as well as explosives.

As a result of a search of the defendant`s residential house in Tbilisi, law enforcement officers seized various models of illegal firearms and ammunition as evidence, including: an automatic firearm, four pistols of various models, a revolver, a hunting rifle, two small-caliber rifles, the explosive TNT, a hand grenade, three so-called silencers for firearms, as well as ammunition cartridges and clamps of various calibers.

The investigation is underway under Article 236, Parts I and III of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning the imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years.
