Tbilisi City Court sentences former State Security Chief Grigol Liluashvili to 13 years in Prison

The former head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. The verdict on the case was announced at the Tbilisi City Court a few minutes ago.

Before the decision was announced, the parties exercised their right to closing arguments. The defense was expecting an acquittal, while the prosecution maintained that the evidence in the case and the testimonies of the questioned individuals fully confirm the guilt of the former high-ranking official.

According to the prosecutor of the case, Mariam Berdzenishvili, the materials obtained by the investigation irrefutably prove all four episodes, including the cases related to kindergartens and the so-called call centers.
