A seven-member delegation of wine trade professionals visited Georgia on a trip organized by the National Wine Agency [NWA] and its contractor, the U.S. marketing company Glodow Nead Communications.
The group included sommeliers and representatives of the HoReCa sector, the media, and Glodow Nead Communications.
During the visit, the guests toured Georgian wineries and wine companies in Kartli and Kakheti. They tasted Georgian wines made using both classical and traditional methods and learned about the centuries-old history, culture, and traditions of Georgian winemaking.
"We had the opportunity to travel through Kartli and Kakheti and explore two different terroirs. We tasted wines both on their own and paired with traditional and contemporary dishes. This experience was particularly valuable for our buyers, who came from various U.S. cities, including Las Vegas, Miami, New York, and San Francisco. Georgian winemakers explained both qvevri winemaking techniques and European winemaking methods in detail. We are learning a great deal of new information that we will share in the United States", - said Laura Burgess, a representative of Glodow Nead Communications.
The US is one of Georgian wine’s strategic export markets. Targeted marketing activities carried out in the US since 2013 with the support of the NWA have helped raise awareness of Georgian wine and increase exports.
In the first 9 months of 2026, approximately 750,000 litres of wine were exported from Georgia to the US, a 3% increase compared with the same period of 2025.
