The entire opposition spectrum spent a month organising yesterday’s rally and could not even mobilise 500 people - Cheishvili

The entire opposition spent a month organising yesterday’s rally and could not even mobilise 500 people. Such a statement today Irakli Cheishvili, a member of the parliamentary majority.

“But we saw the opposite. They aimed to turn out in large numbers and show Georgian Dream their strength. This is what an opposition that has lost face and has no rating achieves. What we saw is the result of what they sow and the policies they pursue. The Georgian opposition, the radicals, have left the political field. They have no pulse; they are clutching at straws. People, they were mobilising the whole of society, and who did they bring out?

You saw for yourselves. They have no rating, people don’t respect them, and the rally was made up of party activists. As for [Mikheil] Saakashvili and the United National Movement, they are a problem not only for the united opposition but for the country and our political spectrum. As long as these people lead the united opposition, everything they do will lead backwards”, - said Irakli Cheishvili.
