The radical opposition has been driven into total disarray by their foreign patrons, reflecting the personal tragedy of EU Ambassador Pawel Herczyński. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
"Mr Herczyński’s favourites are in total disarray, which speaks to his own political tragedy. Their handlers have dragged this radical opposition to where it is today. Just look at the figures involved.
When I see the group assembled before the Constitutional Court, uniting this radical opposition, the situation is truly pathetic. It is hardly surprising that the Georgian people have zero trust in these individuals.
In previous parliamentary elections, they won around 785,000 votes combined, and they have squandered even that support. During local elections, support for "Lelo" was halved, while [Giorgi] Gakharia`s party saw its backing fall by two-thirds. They turned their backs on their own electorate, squandering what little public trust they had left. Given this predicament, the internal infighting so clearly visible within the radical opposition and foreign agency network is entirely logical", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
