It is clear that the government and Ivanishvili were interested in silencing "Rustavi 2" -opposition assesses statement of Parliamentary Speaker

Criticism of Strasbourg Court in connection with Rustavi 2 case expressed by the Chairman of the Parliament is considered groundless by the opposition. Zurab Tchiaberashvili, a member of the European Georgia, says that the chairperson of the parliament puts himslef in a very ridiculous situation.

He said that such statements have a very negative impact on the perception of the country by our partners and international organizations.

"It turns out that the Georgian government, Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili were personally interested in silencing Rustavi 2,"- Zurab Chiaberashvili said.

According to the UNM, Irakli Kobakhidze`s statement on this issue is another proof that this is a political process.

"Such a decision was made in Strasbourg for the first time. If the chairperson of the parliament sees this as a political influence, then I would get it as a great deal of compliment, as nobody has been able to exert such influence on the Strasbourg Court during a few decades of its existence. The fact is not about political influence, it"s just a simple fact that there no justice in Georgia today, "said Zaza Bibilashvili.

The government accuses opposition parties, the president and the non-governmental sector in pressuring the Strasbourg Court.

"When international institution are told by certain institutions that they think that this decision is correct, information is attached to the case materials and becomes the subject of the dispute,in such a way they are trying to recommend the Court to make a concrete decision. The Court whether it is in Strasbourg or anywhere else , take decision on the basis of internal beliefs and internal belief are made up of a lot of factors, including indirect factors, which can be not a direct evidence, "says Gedevan Popkhadze.
