Russia`s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov`s visit to Sokhumi scheduled for April 18 is aasessed in Tbilisi as a provocation and a step for the annexation of the occupied region.

According to the assessment of the European Georgia, it is important that the Parliament adopts a draft resolution, which they presented to the legislative body to express a sharp position against Russian aggression.

"Everything is a continuation of the policy that Russia has and its aim is annexation of these regions. Consequently, this annexation needs significant anti-measures from the government . It is very regrettable that the authorities do not support our resolution, which is about the steps taken by Russia, "Sergi Kapanadze said.

The National Movement is accusing the government of inaction.

"Russia is taking more and more aggressive steps against Georgia`s sovereignty. Lavrov`s visit to the occupied territory is a clear expression of this, "said Nugzar Tsiklauri.

The majority claims that everything is being done to inform the international community and partners regarding Russia`s provocative actions.

"We have adopted a lot of resolutions for the protection of our sovereignty and against Russia"s actions in the parliamentary walls . Once again we will do it if necessary. As for the opposition`s frustration that our resolution is blocked, none of the issues presented by the oppositio have been blocked up to now "-Zviad Dzidziguri said.
