The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament highlighted that North Macedonia was Georgia’s partner country and it was important to form such a Government there for which the accession to the European Union would be a “priority”.
“North Macedonian Presidential and Parliamentary elections process are developing quite interestingly. According to preliminary polls, it is not yet decided who will win both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The main theme that emerged is the integration into the European Union. All the [domestic] parties that have a chance to overcome the electoral threshold put this topic as one of the priority issues.
North Macedonia is our partner country, a candidate country for the European Union, and it is important to form such a [North Macedonian] Government for which the accession to the European Union will be a priority, and we will help each other on this path”, - said Nikoloz Samkahardze.
On Monday, May 6, Samkharadze was appointed to lead a short term observer mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe for presidential and parliamentary elections in North Macedonia.
