The Minister of Defence of Georgia, who is on an official visit to Romania, was hosted by his Romanian counterpart, after which they discussed cooperation in an extended format meeting.
The bilateral ties between the countries in defence, as well as Romania’s involvement in the implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package, were reviewed by the parties.
Irakli Chikovani and Angel Tîlvăr focused on cooperation in various directions, defined by the joint declaration of strategic partnership between Georgia and Romania. The conversation also touched on the security environment in the Black Sea region.
Chikovani emphasised the importance of the support of the partner countries in strengthening Georgia’s defence capability and Euro-Atlantic integration.
