The civil sector is making a statement regarding possible lifetime appointment before the expiry of the probation period of judges - Levan Murusidze and Maia Sulkhanishvili. NGOs do not accept the position of the members of the High Council of Justice that they are obliged to take such decision by the "third wave" of judicial reform. Moreover, they speak of the lawlessness.

"The current situation generates doubts about the fact that the Council is trying to use the legal position to appoint Levan Murusidze for lifetime", - the statement reads.

The signatories urge the High Council of Justice not to make such decision before the adoption of new regulations by the Parliament.
